On My Nightstand

It's chick lit. Ha. Pulitzer Prize-winning chick lit. Hmmm. So I do read this genre after all, eh? Sort of.

The background: Gone with the Wind is one of my all-time favorite movies. It rivals the Ten Commandments and the Lord of the Rings extended versions in length, but every time it was shown on RPN9 pre-cable, I would watch it (both weekends--it was so long, they had to cut it in two). I loved fiesty, ballsy Scarlett O'Hara, so unlike typical damsels in distress. And I adored the Scarlett-Rhett love team! Har. So when I found myself with a little time to kill, a little extra moolah in my pocket, and a lack of GGM and Bill Bryson titles at the bookstore, I ended up buying this nearly-1,500 page tome, something I've been wanting to read since I was in high school.

After I finish it, I'll probably try to get my hands on an original DVD. And then after that, it'll just be a matter of finding time to watch it!

  2. GP, isdatchu? Hmmm...it's partly through Facebook (I invited friends to follow), partly through a much more popular blogger-friend who recommended me (for the record, I had nothing to do with that! Haha), and I think partly through a giveaway that I did when I hit 50 followers.:) I just wanted to thank people who seemed interested in my ordinary life, and it attracted more people to my blog.

Other bloggers really blog hop, follow other blogs, comment galore, and thus gain new followers. I don't actively seek followers naman. I'm still on the fence about wanting so many people to know so much about me, and wanting to keep my privacy. For now, I've decided that it's a public diary of happy (albeit often mundane) things that make up my life, not a money-making vehicle. I try not to blog about negative stuff because there is enough negativity in the world!

Haaay I have more creepy stories for you! But part of me doesn't want to tell them because I'm scared that the spirits will hear and think pinagtsitsimisan ko sila! Is that weird?

  5. This is one of my ultimate favorite books! And whenever people find that out they look at the thick, old-fashioned paperback and back at me and try not to let their faces give away that they think I'm crazy. Haha. But it's so darn good I tell you!
